The Network: Chabad on Campus serves Jewish undergraduate students across the St. Louis area working with student association and student leaders of these campuses. We plan and host a variety of holiday events, shabbat dinners, and social outings. Look for us on campus as we set up tables and give out goodies around the holidays!

Students at Webster, SLU, UMSL, and STLCC, regularly participate in our programs; we draw from campuses as far away as Lindenwood and SIUE.

We work closely with the campus Jewish student groups and provide resources to the campus communities.

  • Year over year participation in Involvement Fairs to ensure incoming Jewish students are aware of Jewish opportunities on campus when they arrive
  • Campus specific programs for Jewish holidays, in partnership with the campus-specific student groups
  • Engagement with school administration around diversity issues and support for Jewish students
  • Pastoral consultation with students needing support or seeking a personal Jewish connection
  • Facilitating Birthright Israel experiences as well as post-trip follow-up back in St Louis
  • Group events visiting or engaging campuses with larger Jewish student populations
  • Rabbi Novack is a regular visitor to these schools, often guest lecturing , participating on panel discussions or simply visiting students

The Chabad on Campus team is affiliated with the campus ministry programs at St. Louis University and at Webster University, and plays an active leadership role on the UMSL campus.

Focus on UMSL

UMSLIn 2015, Chabad began a program at the University of Missouri - St. Louis with a dedicated staff professional.

We worked to re-establish the Jewish Student Association and collaborated with the administration to introduce a Hebrew language course starting in the spring of 2016 and kosher food options on campus. Chabad and the JSA held visible Jewish holiday celebrations on the main UMSL campus throughout the academic year. The "UMSL Jewish Fest" and Mock Seder engaged the broader campus with a taste of Judaism. Social Justice events and speakers rounded out the programming.

We look forward to helping this campus community grow in the coming years.
