Welcome to the WashU Jewish Community! We are so excited to meet you.

We have 18 years of experience in building a community for you. We hope you will join the thousands of students who have chosen to participate over the years.

The pandemic has thrown us all a curve ball, so the form—the body—of our programming has shifted to meet your needs, but the values—the soul—of our programs continues to animate everything we do. We continue to be open, in safe ways, for you to attend in-person programming and events.

JewCrew Sign Up

We want to make it as easy as possible for you to meet your future friends, and have adjusted Chabad's JewCrew program to make it more COVID friendly (woohoo!). In each JewCrew there will be about 15 first years and 3-4 upperclassmen/JewSAs (Jewish Student Associates), who are looking forward to welcoming you into the community.

Be expecting a text from your JewSA! They will be there to answer any questions, show endless support, and let you know when your group activities are scheduled.

Activities include:

  • Virtual Game Night!
  • Social-distanced outdoor activities on campus, like kosher BBQ, tie-dye, paint night, and more!
  • Welcome package with JewCrew ~essentials~

Please fill out this form ASAP so we can match you with your JewCrew! Do not hesitate to share this link with other incoming Jews in the class of 2025 so they can join too.

Move-in Weekend

You and your family are invited to join us for Shabbat at the Chabad House. We will be hosting meals and organizing minyanim. Here is the schedule and RSVP form.

We are also glad to meet you outside in a socially-distant manner. Book a time here so we can give your family our full attention and avoid overlapping with others: https://calendly.com/rabbi-/parent-and-student-welcome-2021?month=2021-08

Move-in is Saturday, August 21, 2021. If you want an early move-in time slot for Friday August 20th (for religious reasons), please fill out the early arrival request form in the WashU housing portal, accessed through WebSTAC. Early move-in typically costs $50. Students who request early move-in for religious reasons will have this fee waived by completing this form.

If you would like a mechanical Shabbat key, please complete the same form.

If you would like a Mezuzah please click here for the national Chabad on Campus Mezuzah bank.

Students will be able to get kosher meals through WashU's dining program in the Bear's Den on Friday afternoon (lunch) and then again starting on Sunday and throughout Orientation week (Bear Beginnings). All Shabbat meals will be available at Chabad (see above).
