Welcome to the WashU Jewish Community! We are so excited to meet you.

We have 20 years of experience in building a community for you. We hope you will join the thousands of students who have chosen to participate over the years.

As we exit the pandemic, hopefully, we are excited and invigorated for the opportunities that the future brings.

JewCrew Sign Up

We want to make it as easy as possible for you to meet your future friends, and have adjusted Chabad's JewCrew program to make it more COVID friendly (woohoo!). In each JewCrew there will be about 15 first years and 3-4 upperclassmen/JewSAs (Jewish Student Associates), who are looking forward to welcoming you into the community.

Be expecting a text from your JewSA! They will be there to answer any questions, show endless support, and let you know when your group activities are scheduled.

Activities include:

  • Virtual Game Night!
  • Social-distanced outdoor activities on campus, like kosher BBQ, tie-dye, paint night, and more!
  • Welcome package with JewCrew ~essentials~

Soon we will launch the registration form so we can match you with your JewCrew! Do not hesitate to share this link with other incoming Jews in the class of 2026 so they can join too.

Move-in Weekend

You and your family are invited to join us for Shabbat at the Chabad House. As we do each week, we will be hosting meals and organizing services. (RSVP link coming soon.)

We'd also love to meet parents and incoming students whenever works for you during move in ! Book a time here so we can give your family our full attention if you would like to avoid overlapping with others: https://calendly.com/rabbi-/parent-and-student-welcome-2022?month=2022-08

Move-in is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, August 19 and 20, 2022. WashU will convey more information about selecting a move-in time around July 1, 2022. Our suggestion is to request an time-slot for Friday.

  • If you would like to request a mechanical Shabbat key, please complete this form.
  • If you would like a Mezuzah please click here for the national Chabad on Campus Mezuzah bank.

Students will be able to get kosher meals through WashU's dining program in the Bear's Den starting ??? and throughout Orientation week (Bear Beginnings). All Shabbat meals will be available at Chabad (see above).
