We provide a variety of programs, classes, and social events all designed to build community and support young people. Our team members take great pride in being a part of the Chabad family, advancing Jewish campus life at Washington University and throughout St. Louis.

Chana manages the day-to-day program at Chabad. She has staffed over a dozen Birthright Israel trips and is the instructor for the Sinai Scholars course. She also won an award for Chesed. Chana is on Instagram at @chanamamawashu. Her email is [email protected]

 

Rabbi Hershey Novack - Director

Rabbi Hershey co-directs the Chabad center, where he also serves as senior campus rabbi. He was recently named by The Forward as “one of America’s Most Inspiring Rabbis.” He served on the board of the Jewish Family Services and was a trustee of the Jewish Federation of St. Louis. [email protected]

Cierra Brown, Office Manager

With more than eight years of experience in Human Resources and Office Management and her Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Cierra runs the office at Chabad. Cierra married her high school sweetheart and they have two beautiful children and a dog named Blondie. Cierra enjoys spending time with her family outdoors. Lindsay Eichhord, House Manager

Lindsay is the house manager at Chabad. She knows when things are happening and makes sure we are ready. Married almost 20 years, and mother of an 18-year-old son, the family shares their home with a sweet, skittish dog named Kira. Together they love weekends at their lake house enjoying the sunshine and the view.

 

 

Eden Yair - Jewish Agency for Israel Fellow

Eden comes from the north of Israel from a small town called Tiberius.  At Chabad, her role is to be the connection person between Israel and the students. Eden has four siblings, (two sets of twins!)  Previously, Eden completed her undergraduate studies at Bar Ilan University in political science and human resource management. She has worked in both the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Defense for the Israel government.  In her work she did high-level logistical functioning, worked with members of the Knesset and military officials. 

 

 

DL Shernofsky - Program and Engagement Associate

DL Shernofsky, Program and Engagement Associate.  DL is from Baltimore, Maryland, and attended Machon L'Yahadus in New York. She worked as the program coordinator at Chabad of Brooklyn Law School. At WashU, DL oversees the JewCrew program, ongoing events, and works directly with students of our vibrant undergraduate community at WashU. If your child received a welcome package, went ice skating, or participated in “Sushi in the Sukkah” you can thank DL. Her email is [email protected]

Rabbi Yossi and Goldie Abenson - Co-Directors of JGrads STL

This dynamic couple recently opened a new Chabad House in the Central West End. They are located near Barnes Jewish Hospital and often visit patients there. Additionally, they direct the JGrads program for graduate students and their peers in St. Louis. Rabbi Yossi and Goldie’s community gives undergrads another – excellent – reason to consider staying in St. Louis after graduation. More at www.jgrads.org.

 

Yael Sabah, Director of The Network

Yael Sabah directs our program for students at SLU, Webster, UMSL, and St. Louis Community Colleges. As a student, Yael was active in her campus Chabad in Santiago, Chile. She studied business and administration and has a master’s degree in marketing. In her free time, Yael enjoys time with her husband and daughter.
