  • Reshit Ehrlich is the Wash U Israel fellow. Reshit provides a connection to Israel before, during, and after the trip. A native to the Holy Land, she knows the country inside out. Reshit loves to travel and looks forward to traveling with you.

Who is eligible?

This amazing opportunity is available to Jewish young adults, ages 18 through 26 who have never been to Israel on a previous educational tour with their peers.

You are eligible if you have at least one Jewish parent, consider yourself Jewish, and haven't taken a gap year or study-abroad program in Israel. Therefore, you are not eligible to take the trip AFTER you do ISBA or most other Israel summer programs.

Is it really free?

Yes, the program is free. This includes round trip flights from the East Coast, hotels, private coach travel in Israel, entry fees, educational programs, and almost all meals. A $250 refundable deposit is required, and is returned after the program. Students will need to arrange their own transportation to the city of departure, and are expected to pay for several of their own meals in Israel. That's it!

Is the trip religious?

As a Jewish trip, we will have lots of opportunities to explore how Judaism lives and breathes in Israel as well as exploring our own Jewish identities. There are no religious requirements to be eligible for the trip or on the trip in Israel.

Mayanot has been providing adventurous and educational experiences to students Israel since 1996. As one of Birthright Israel’s largest providers. these trips are open to all Jews, regardless of background, affiliation or practice. The trips are co-ed and are catered to non-affiliated participants. Mayanot believes that a diverse, pluralistic group of participants makes the experience much richer. Mayanot's welcoming approach and attention to detail help ensure that Jews with varying beliefs and observance levels are able to enjoy the program together.  Therefore, regardless of your background or denomination you will feel at home on this trip.
