Here are some methods of giving that you may consider to focus and maximize your support. Donations to Chabad at Washington University are tax deductible to the maximum permitted by law.

Alumni Circle – The generosity of alumni enables Chabad to be there for new generations of students with meaningful opportunities and Jewish programs. Click here to join.

Auto Donation – We are able to retrieve donated cars – in good shape or junkers – from almost anywhere in the United States. Furthermore, if you are planning to purchase a new vehicle soon, donating your old one can help on your tax return.

When the Jews travelled in the desert, they raised funds to build a Mishkan (Tabernacle). The Torah reports that they sought donations of “…gold, silver, and copper; blue, purple, and crimson wool; linen and goat hair; ram skins dyed red, tachash skins, and acacia wood; oil for lighting, spices for the anointing oil and for the incense; shoham stones and filling stones…” We are able to provide you with a plethora of opportunities. Building Fund – You may direct your support to be used for construction, maintenance, and payments on the Chabad House.

Credit Card – To make a donation online please visit

Employer Identification Number (EIN) – People often ask for ours, so here it is: 34-2049857.

Foundations – If you or your family have a charitable foundation or donor-advised fund, please encourage an annual allocation to Chabad at Washington University.

Life Insurance – You can name our organization as the owner and beneficiary of your policy, or maintain ownership and designate us as the beneficiary.

Matching Gifts – Many employers sponsor matching gift programs and will match their employees' charitable contributions allowing a donor to double their donation at no additional cost. Some companies also match retirees' or spouses' gifts. Programs at Chabad are often eligible for these matches, and we would be glad to help set it up.

Monthly Giving – We are able to accept smaller gifts, automatically charged once per month or quarter. This form of giving is perfect for young alumni and others who want to make a sustained impact.

PayPal – We are able to accept donations via PayPal. Please visit for the details.

Program Support – We seek donors who wish to make a special gift in support of a particular program that the Chabad offers. In the past, donors have chosen to underwrite our High Holiday programs, defray our direct costs associated with staffing Birthright Israel trips, and the like.

Stock – Transferring cash and securities from your personal accounts to Chabad's is a relatively easy process. To initiate a transfer, please contact Rabbi Novack at or at 314.757.2884. This type of gift may also provide significant tax benefits. As always, your tax advisor should be consulted.

Volunteer – Your time and talent can make a real difference in many aspects of our vital work and you don't even need to be in St. Louis to help out! Contact Rabbi Hersh Novack and get involved.

If you would like to speak to Rabbi Hersh Novack about a special gift or any form of donations please contact him personally at – 314.757.2884.
